   Responsible for performing unit dose functions, which includes the task of filling patient drawers on the unit dose cart with a 24-hour supply of medications- Tasks involve filling medication orders, preparing them for delivery to nursing units by packaging and labeling doses. Computer-generated labels are used, and a pharmacist reviews the prepared doses- Additionally responsible for accurately filling floor stock drugs and fulfilling general requisitions- Handles incoming telephone calls, providing routine information about medications and resolving pharmacy-related issues. Calls are escalated to pharmacists or supervisors when necessary. The focus is on maintaining effective customer relations and promoting a positive work environment- Manages the delivery of prescriptions, floor stock, medication carts, IV solutions, and emergency drugs to nursing units. Proficiently operates the tube system and emphasizes prompt customer service- Assists with inventory control, checking drug inventory to ensure compliance with expiration dates. Responsible for restocking unit dose bins, bulk storage areas, and carts used in various patient care settings, such as emergency rooms and surgery- Takes on the responsibility of bulk packaging and the preparation of extemporaneous medications- Maintains accurate records of narcotics usage, including the upkeep of narcotics accountability sheets and daily reconciliation sheets. Actively participates in the distribution of narcotics and Omnicell drug management- Requests labels for IV preparation when needed and pulls plain and premixed IVs for pharmacist review. Under direct pharmacist supervision, prepares IV solutions, TPNs, and parenteral products- Contributes to ongoing research projects related to pharmacy- Maintaining good customer service skills while running a cash register
