   I am the general studies teacher in a 3rd Grade ICT classroom. My co-teacher and I create lesson plans together, developing ways to inspire our students to love learning. We have supported our students to grow in their skills and abilities, specifically in reading, math, and writing. They have gone from writing a sentence to developing a well-written paragraph; from barely decoding a word to reading at least one sentence; from looking at math (such as multiplication) with fear to independently and accurately solving equations. We are supporting our students in their transition from being in lower elementary to upper elementary, where the work expectations are higher, the need for independence is greater, and the social skills are very different. My co-teacher and I are also working on the social-emotional skills of our students. We support them in being able to express themselves, that all feelings are 100% the right feelings — but it’s how you react and what you physically do that needs to be thought about.
