Product Design Engineer with a strong R&D mindset and real shop-floor experience in the fabrication industry. I’ve taken multiple projects from a blank screen in CAD all the way to fabricated, assembled, and working hardware.On every project I don’t just “make the model” – I own the engineering. That means:Building clean, manufacturing-ready 3D models and detailed drawingsCreating accurate BOMs and supporting procurement with practical, supplier-ready specsRunning FEA (static & fatigue) and engineering calculations to validate designsCollaborating daily with fabrication, welders, vendors, and management to solve real constraints (cost, lead time, manufacturability, safety, standards)Technically, I’m comfortable jumping between tools and domains. I work in Inventor, SolidWorks, CATIA V5, Abaqus, ANSYS, Nastran, and related FEA environments. I also have experience with renewable/energy modeling tools like HelioScope and NREL SAM, and I actively use AI & prompt engineering to speed up design research, documentation, and workflow automation.What motivates me most is designing things that actually get built – heavy steel structures, pressure and containment equipment, cranes and lifting systems, and now marine/pontoon structures – and making each iteration safer, easier to fabricate, and more cost-effective than the last.

   Engineered dredging barges and pontoons in an R&D setting, delivering fabrication-ready designs and achieving 10% structural weight reduction through framing optimization.• Performed stability design calculations, including buoyancy, CG tracking, and trim/freeboard checks for operating and transport cases.• Executed nonlinear FEA in Inventor Nastran to verify strength/stiffness, identify critical stress regions, and drive targeted reinforcements and weight-efficient redesigns.• Redesigned pontoon components, created the transport trailer, ensured compliance with ABS rules, USCG requirements, and managed multi-state DOT permits, collaborating with drafting and fabrication teams.
