About Halee Gray Scott

I remember riding shotgun in my Daddy\'s two-tone blue Ford pick-up truck, hammering him with questions as we drove along deserted country backroads. Daddy, what color is clear? Why do some people like onions, when clearly they\'re disgusting? Is something wrong with their tastebuds? Does the color red look the same to you as it does to me? How do you know? If I go to school so I can work and I work so I can live, when will I really get to live? Dad would try to answer best as he could, but inevitably, he\'d shrug his shoulders and say,\"Halee, you think too much.\" Three decades have passed since those days, and not much has changed. I still ask tough questions, and Dad would still say I think too much. But these days, I marshal that very same spirit of inquiry into my vocation as a writer and a researcher. As a writer, I ask tough questions about how faith informs our understanding of culture, and vice versa. As a researcher, I help individuals and organizations unpack, understand, and navigate the challenges that lie between them and their goals. My writing has appeared in The Washington Post, Christianity Today, Christian Education Journal, Real Clear Religion, Relevant, Books and Culture, Gifted for Leadership, Outcomes, Intervarsity\'s The Well. My first book, Dare Mighty Things: Mapping the Challenges of Leadership for Christian Women is due out from Zondervan in March 2014. I also teach seminary courses in spiritual formation, theology, and leadership. In my spare time, I\'m a barefoot runner and a bread baker. One cancels out the other, I guess! Soli deo gloria.
