About Jing W.

I love working with teams to ship delightful experiences. My skillset is equal parts product and design, strategy and operations, and brand and communications.Most of my 18+ years career has been in games. I\'ve worked with some of the best folks in the industry at Phoenix Labs, Riot Games, Nintendo, and now Fortis Games, as well as taken on the founding journey with educational gaming startup, Bot School Inc. Looking at my job history, you might find yourself wondering — “How did you end up in so many different lanes? How do these experiences connect to each other?”I think of my career like it’s an open-world RPG. Less focused on linear advancement through a defined track; more focused on building a latticework of skills and XP that continuously levels me up.Being multidisciplinary has helped me collaborate with greater empathy. It’s given me shared language with teammates across disciplines, be they designers, engineers, artists, producers, marketers, executives, etc. It’s often led to me serving as the “glue” on teams, and allowed me to support teams effectively when they need help working through a challenge. It also pushes me to learn, observe, and adapt. Plus, in a pinch, I can morph into any number of roles - strategist, product manager, designer, producer, or marketer. I also have a deep interest in tech and tools that make it easier for a wider variety of people to create and work better together.
