Recommend assessment tools to both students and staff, and use counselling techniques to support international and domestic students’ in developing self-awareness of their personalities, values, skills and abilities.• Coach, counsel and advise undergraduate and graduate students, as well as recent graduates, by identifying personal barriers and opportunities to help them evaluate options and make informed career-related decisions.• Clarify job search strategies, résumé and cover letter styles, as well as approaches for LinkedIn profiles and interview techniques to prepare students for internships, volunteer roles and paid opportunities.• Support students with academic concerns and sources of distress, from behavioural issues affecting performance to effective networking skills to engaging with staff and faculty, with the aim of enhancing their academic success.• Devise instructional materials for an online workshop and panel on global opportunities, enabling students to develop career planning and job search approaches suitable for their desired geographical locations.• Coordinate the creation and development of in-person workshop series on career planning for students with global goals and those who identify as 2SLGBTQI+ or support these communities, while fostering safe spaces as well.• Integrate into and serve as a resource for a work committee responsible for conceptualizing, designing and facilitating a non-credit 12-week pilot course to be eventually offered to all UTM students.• Foster constructive connections with marketing and outreach teams, as well as staff from other university units, to effectively market workshops and programs to target student groups.• Prepare comprehensive reports as well as punctual or weekly presentations for the Career or International Education Centre that accurately reflect frontline experiences, feedback from students, or both.
