ABOUT HESHANI HETTIARAHCHI
Hi, I’m Hesh, a Software Engineer with more than 5 years of experience, progressing from Associate Software Engineer to Senior Software Engineer. I’ve been engaged in multiple front-end and back-end applications across design and development. I recently completed my Master’s in Software Engineering from Memorial University of Newfoundland (MUN) and hold a BSc in Information and Communication Technology from the University of Jaffna, Sri Lanka, graduating with Second Class Upper Division honors. I am currently pursuing the Google UX Design and Meta Front End Developer Professional Certifications. Based in St. John’s, NL, I am seeking opportunities as Senior Software Engineer, Front End Developer, Developer, Full Stack Developer, UI/UX Specialist, Product Manager, or Digital Manager, where I can contribute to impactful digital solutions. My career began in full-stack development (Java, Android, React JS, React Native, JavaScript), where I designed and developed apps and platforms from scratch. I later transitioned into product ownership, managing the entire product lifecycle, conducting market and user research, defining product strategy, leading cross-functional agile teams, and using data-driven experimentation (A/B testing, analytics) to improve UX and drive growth. In addition to my technical and product background, I’ve built a strong foundation in digital marketing, including SEO, Google Ads, App Store Optimization, Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO), and content strategy. These cross-functional skills allow me to bridge the gap between engineering, marketing, and end users. I’m also a Global Ambassador for the WomenTech Network, and have been awarded scholarships from Google and Skills Matter to attend international IT summits. I bring a growth mindset, strategic thinking, and strong ownership to every role. I’m empathetic, collaborative, and known for finding creative solutions and working well across disciplines.
