About Kathleen Pozarycki
Kathleen is the lead staff for Snohomish County’s Local Integrating Organization for the Snohomish and Stillaguamish Watersheds. As a Senior Planner 2, she works with federal, state, local and tribal governments to leverage regional partnerships to recover Puget Sound. Kathleen works collaboratively to develop restoration and policy solutions with a variety of partners. Recently appointed as an alternate to the Ecosystem Coordination Board, Kathleen is working to integrate recovery goals into local planning efforts. Kathleen earned a Masters of Marine Affairs from the University of Washington, School of Marine and Environmental Affairs and a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science from Michigan State University. Her work as a Graduate Teaching and Research Assistant with the University of Washington provided her with experience and familiarity in working with Washington Sea Grant, the Northwest Straits Initiative, Salmon Recovery and Oceanography. In her previous position as a National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Coral Reef Management Fellow with the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, Kathleen facilitated the development of Conservation Action Plans in partnership with The Nature Conservancy and organized and prioritized community based watershed restoration efforts in the Laolao Bay and Talakhaya watersheds. Working in the Mariana Islands also provided Kathleen the opportunity to work with indigenous island populations of Chamorro and Carolinian Pacific Islanders. Kathleen has twenty two years of professional work experience facilitating watershed planning efforts, conducting education and outreach activities, and working in partnership with local agencies to lead, develop and implement conservation projects.
