Performance regression testing encompassing the evaluation of hardware microcode releases from the processor and platform level to the operating system stack, encompassing various hardware microcode, kernels and OS distributions. I lead a large remote team that plays a pivotal role in the quality assurance process for hardware microcode releases. Our team’s responsibilities extend to addressing enterprise and cloud/MDC performance concerns.To assess the impact of system changes, our team utilizes a comprehensive range of microbenchmarks and macro-level application workloads. These evaluations provide insights into the before-and-after performance changes resulting from system modifications.Furthermore, our team provides guidance on the performance of new products during product release. We employ similar tools and methodologies to demonstrate the performance capabilities of the next generation of products compared to their predecessors.
