ABOUT HERNAN CHICO
I first found my passion for Television Broadcast and Engineering when I studied Communication at Marquette University. At Marquette I also worked for the on campus TV Station. Yet I could only take so many cold winters and decided to move to sunny Orlando, Florida. In Orlando I began working at WOFL Fox 35. There I was very fortunate to be mentored by some of the best in the television business. At WOFL Fox 35 I worked hard, learned as much as I could, and worked up through the company. First from a production tech, Senior Chyron Operator, Technical Director, then Director and now I\'m currently the Director of Engineering. As Director of Engineering, I oversee the Engineering, Production, and Master Control departments. A combined staff of 27 for three television stations. Everyday presents a new technical or logistical challenge and I truly enjoy working with my team to problem solve, troubleshoot, and use some creative thinking to meet those challenges. Outside the office, I enjoy time with my family. You can usually find us hanging out around Disney Springs, riding bikes at our local park, or watching Star Wars (a family favorite).
