About Herman Vacca

It was the story of Conrad and Marcel Schlumberger that brought me to my first job at Schlumberger. I was greatly inspired by these people with vision that knew how to create and realize that dream. During my 35 years with Schlumberger, I developed many close friendships with customers, other service company reps and a deep commitment to several of the oil and gas professional organizations. My favorite part of this job was always learning the latest new technologies, meeting new friends and creating new markets for new services. A significant hallmark was the opportunity to use the Schlumberger iCenter, a 3-D visualization room connected to multi-media devices, networks and numerous software programs. It was like Disney on steroids. Like taking a “walk” through your project, observe the steering of a well into a target and run “live” well stimulations anywhere in the world from your office. In subsequent years I worked with various O&G Companies that encouraged the use of leading edge well evaluation and completions technologies. Later on, that carried over into the unconventional world as the shale plays began to develop across the US. I had the opportunity to receive the best training available in the industry long before many of these new processes, tools and concepts became household words. Now I have worked just about every known domestic unconventional play. It was all about the friends and meeting new people that pulled me in and let me ride with them through all these ventures over the years. It was a gift to experience the \"Oilfield Code\" where so many went out of their way to help me learn the ropes. In current times, there have been many magnificent opportunities to meet numerous new enthusiastic professional friends in the new \'digital world\" who are helping me to understand and embrace the latest fantastic technological advancements. Moving on, I have once again been “re-invented” by using drilling data, data analytics and artificial intelligence systems to optimize horizontal unconventional wells. Currently I am focusing on AI apps for international projects. It only gets better each and every year.
