As Division Director of Maternal Fetal Medicine for the UC Davis Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, he is tasked with following clinical, teaching, research and professional metrics.Clinical: Clinical care that specializes in high risk care for obstetric patients, fetal ultrasound, and fetal intervention while insuring delivery of clinical care that is timely, appropriate and of the highest quality. Research: Actively participate in clinical and/or translational research, including clinical trials; secure funding; assist in grant applications and contract management.Teaching: Oversee & mentor medical students, residents, fellows, & postdoctoral trainees on MFM focus. Service/professional: Appropriately contribute service to the department, SOM, the University, the profession and the community in some combination, including participation in leadership committees and activities.Specific goals include:1. Develop and maintain a strong working relationship with UC Davis Health specialty leaders to ensure a collaborative obstetric ultrasound program and to support a multi-specialty fetal therapy program.2. Demonstrate accountability and stewardship in management of the MFM Division budget and expenditures in collaboration with Department Chair and Administrators.3. Manage Division communication among MFM division meetings that encompass business, patient care, research and educational components.4. Continuously evaluate the efficiency and management of L&D to ensure high quality of delivery of care and best use of resources.5. Assure a high level of professional conduct for all division members when interacting with administrative and clinical staff and other physicians.6. Expand and implement MFM services in northern CA.7. Maintain an excellent MFM Fellowship program w/ current PD.8. Champion obstetric QA and QI programs for quality OB care.9. Maintain a functional telemedicine program that includes an on-call and point of service program.
