I am presently part of the Schlumberger 3MT group and the Technical manager of the Metallurgy domain. Some of the projects I am involved in include- Working with University programs on leading edge developments- Developing new concepts for controlled potential cathodic protection systems for both sacrificial anodes and impressed current systems- Work on the characterization of fatigue crack growth in seawater and CP environments as a function of the protective potential levels- Development of HIP alloy specifications and process for potential applications to Schlumberger and Cameron products as a means of cost and execution savings- Developing a database on compatibility of materials to control fluids and facilitating the testing and qualification process- I am the lead instructor for the Introduction to Metallurgy Course for the past 10 years. This is a two and a half day course covering the fundamentals of metallurgy and concluding with corrosion and hydrogen embrittlement. In addition to this I regularly support subsea, drilling, surface, controls processing issues as problems come up with qualification and manufacturing of products related to ongoing projects. I am also a member of workgroups related to API 20e and am a member of ASTM committees in electroplating (B.08), Alloy steels (A.01) and fasteners (F.16).
