About Heril Mistry

I’m a student engineer with a strong interest in building production-grade machine learning and backend systems that work under real-world constraints. I enjoy taking problems from ambiguity to deployment—thinking through data, models, systems, and tradeoffs end to end.A defining experience for me was representing IIT Jodhpur at the Inter IIT Tech Meet, where my team won the Gold Medal (AI/ML) for building a real-time fraud detection system. The work involved streaming pipelines with exactly-once semantics, graph-based feature engineering, online learning models, and an LLM-powered interface for explainability. More than the result, the experience shaped how I approach reliability, scalability, and execution under pressure.My experience spans Python, ML pipelines, FastAPI/Django backends, AWS, Docker, and system integration.I’m particularly interested in roles that value ownership, fast iteration, and real impact, where engineering decisions directly affect users and outcomes. Always curious, always building.
