NISAR mission is a dual frequency L+S band SAR mission. My team and I are responsible to develop algorithms and implement the processing software to process and calibrate the level-0 raw SAR observations to higher level science products including Single Look Complex (SLC) images as well as Interferometry and polarimetry products. Such level-1 and level-2 products at a global scale will be the primary inputs to down-stream science and application algorithms to monitor earth system and to better understand solid earth deformations (e.g, caused by tectonics, earthquake and volcanic activities), cryosphere (e.g, glacier melting and movements) and ecosystem (e.g, biomass and soil moisture and surface water changes) and many more applications with the goal to monitor and mitigate hazards.
