WORK HISTORY
Education Chair St Pete Branch @Naacp
My responsibilities include carrying out the mission and vision of the National NAACP Headquarters. We advocate for our children in our local community to make sure they receive a high quality, equittable, equal, and just education from the Pinellas County School District. We are an organization of advocacy and due process, Our subcommittee identified 5 schools in our community that have not received equittable and equal resources. We identified key people in the community and organizations involved in advocacy work, held a parent forum, and crafted a detailed position statement and recommendation to the Pinellas County School District of our findings. The target areas were executive leadership, teachers, family engagement, discipline and testing. We are an action oriented committee that demands results from the decision and policy makers.
