At Boeing, Herbie’s large cross-functional teams have delivered significant improvements for the 737 utilizing a Lean mindset. As a 737 Program Integration Manager, Herbie manages & leads the Value Creation / Accleration Program in addition to other key safety, certification & performance projects. Prior to Herbie\'s involvement in sharpening the team\'s focus on relentlessly building a healthy backlog of innovation, the yearly ROI remained stalled at 2:1 year after year. Since taking on this VE leadership & portfolio management assignment, the team’s ROI improved & accelerated from a 3:1 in 2016, 8:1 in 2017, & 11:1 in 2018 for a significant investment. The 737 VE team’s lessons learned & best practices have been captured & are actively being shared as standard work across Boeing’s global enterprise in the form of a Be Innovators Handbook - A How to Guide that Herbie authored. Herbie now teaches these key LEAN thinking & proven associated innovation tactics & strategies to Boeing’s working teams in order to win in the marketplace.
