ABOUT HERBERT GUEDEGBE
I always have a hard time talking about myself. Instead, I would rather talk about my obsession of having an impact in everything I do – that is largely the reason why I am only joining LinkedIn now. I am Herbert Guedegbe and I used to be an environmental engineer. I enjoyed it at first, but quickly felt unfulfilled. It did not satisfy the yearning that I had to make an impact in my line of work. As a child, I attended a photographic exhibition on child malnutrition, that shook me to my core. Being born in Africa myself, that experience gave me a purpose and clearly shaped my career choices. I hit a home run when I joined GlaxoSmithKline, not only because of the well-known company\'s commitment to Malaria Vaccines development but also because for years, I got inspired, coached, mentored and challenged by outstanding leaders. From building quality organizations from scratch in Belgium, leading regulatory and remediation projects helping to lift an FDA warning letter in Canada, to turning around the performance of a large manufacturing organization in Italy after an acquisition and directing the operational strategy of a key GSK Consumer Healthcare site prior to a demerger in Switzerland, I consistently knocked the ball out of the park! I have also developed a genuine interest for what I believe, is the backbone of any successful business and leader: the people. After 10 years of expatriation (and a pandemic!) and with my over growing interest for smaller companies and biotech, I could not have dreamed of a better time and place to return to France. Indeed, six months ago, I joined the Biopharmaceutical group LFB, which is a French company. I love the fact that LFB is a 100% French company treating patients with serious and often rare diseases while the French state has extremely strong ambitions in the field of bioproduction. I am glad to have a say in what the future of the bioproduction will look like and how to get there as I am currently leading one of the 5 Bioproduction sites of LFB group in Alès (south of France) – LFB Biomanufacturing. So, whatever you need, I am sure we can get it done together. Feel free to contact me via LinkedIn and let’s make a good use of it now that I am onboard.
