ABOUT HENRY Z. FOMINYAM

I studied how the human language system works but have mostly been involved in AI roles that help softwares increase websites visibility on the Internet. Behind the scene (i.e, assessing crawling algorithms in SEO/SEA), I worked with raters to determine quality C2C and B2C ads and rank them on various social media platforms, among other things. We scrutinised ads quality and relevance for users engagement to teach systems not to rely entirely on things like highest bids in auctions. While doing linguistic research, I quickly developed a passion for jobs that mitigate and secure end-users experience on the internet. I began the adventure with ResearchGate in 2016 and have provided part-time services on platforms like Lionbridge, Unbabel and Clickworker. These, coupled with more than 4 years auditing role at Appen nurtured in me an interest in online marketing which was materialised via a Google digital marketing and E-commerce professional certificate. I am interested in any marketing entry role, especially those relating to marketing and product research, product management, customer service and order fulfilment. As a linguist, I am fascinated to see what lies beneath the surface representation of individual languages. The similarities I observe teach me that we all have something in common as humans. Thus, my struggle did not end in understanding how the human language works, I also strive to understand the individuals: their fears, struggles and things that give them happiness. From this perspective, I can, and often mingle, share and learn wherever I find myself in this village called earth.
