About Henry F. de Sio
Hon. Henry F. De Sio, Jr. is the Chief Operating Officer at the United Nations Foundation. Known as the global ambassador for changemakers, Henry has led both startups and large, complex organizations. As the 2008 Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Barack Obama’s presidential campaign, and then serving as Deputy Assistant to the President in the Obama White House, De Sio came to be intimately acquainted with a new emerging pattern of societal change and went on to follow his campaign-driven passion for hope and change to make changemaking a global phenomenon. Henry\'s latest book,\'Changemaker Playbook: The New Physics of Leadership in a World of Explosive Change,\'(2021) has been awarded best Business (General) Book by the 2022 International Book Awards, Best Nonfiction (General) Book by the 2022 Best Book Awards, and 2022 Silver Medal Winner for Business Ethics by the Axiom Business Book Awards. His first book is titled \'Campaign Inc: How Leadership and Organization Propelled Barack Obama to the White House (2014).Prior to joining the United Nations Foundation, De Sio proudly served as Leadership Group Member at Ashoka Innovators for the Public, where he led worldwide strategic communications and advocacy to advance \'Everyone A Changemaker\'. Henry earned his B.A. in Political Science from U.C. Santa Barbara and a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from Harvard\'s Kennedy School. He has been a Rockefeller Bellagio Resident Fellow, a Fundación Innovación Bankinter Fellow on Technology & Inequality, and the first Visiting Scholar at the Peter Underwood Centre for Educational Attainment, University of Tasmania.
