ABOUT HENRY JEFFREY
I have a genuine interest and great enthusiasm for the achievement of net zero targets and the strategic policies needed to achieve them. As detailed below, I have over 25 years’ experience in the energy sector including strategic planning and management of energy technology, innovation and infrastructure involving work in the research, commercial and policy environments. My career to date has involved strategic analysis and technology roadmap development with significant, domestic, European and international dimensions. I have direct demonstrable experience of the benefits of pioneering strategic analyses approaches using modified PESTLE and SWOT techniques to develop combined strategies and action plans of energy sectors opportunities. I am very drawn to transferring my experience of domestic and international strategic analysis to facilitate the efficient and effective development of the national transmission system to ensure the meeting of our national net zero targetsMy current position is within the School of Engineering at the University of Edinburgh, where I established and have directed the Policy and Innovation Group since 2013. The group works across academia, industry and government to analyse the dynamics of policy and innovation, providing strategic analysis and trusted advice to a network of diverse stakeholders from the innovation, industrial and policy communities.
