ABOUT HENRY CLACK

I specialise in international commercial dispute resolution, with a particular focus on shipping (both “wet” and “dry”) and cyber issues. I have experience representing shipowners, charterers, salvors, P&I Clubs, H&M insurers, commodity traders, brokers and logistics companies. I have worked on disputes arising from fires, collisions, groundings, cargo contamination, charter parties, bills of lading, pipeline and other offshore installations and commodity supply contracts. He has significant experience of handling complex technical disputes relating to salvage and wreck removal of both modern commercial vessels and historic wrecks, including the \"MAERSK HONAM\",\"EVER GIVEN\" and the cargo ex.\"TILAWA\".I also have extensive experience in advising on the management of cyber incidents involving ransomware, data exfiltration and data breaches (and the regulatory issues arising therefrom). I have had particular success in tracing, freezing and ensuring the return of funds diverted to third parties as a result of fraud. I have represented clients in both English High Court proceedings and international arbitration under LMAA, LOF and LCIA rules. I also have experience of commodities disputes. During my training contract, I was seconded to the firm’s Geneva office during which time I worked on Taurus Petroleum Limited v State Oil Marketing Company of the Ministry of Oil, Republic of Iraq [2017] UKSC 64 before the Supreme Court. The case dealt with the situs of a debt owed under a letter of credit. I also spent time in the firm’s transactional shipping and contentious insurance teams.I am qualified in England and Wales.
