ABOUT HENRIK AHLERS

Since 2021, I have been Chairman of the Executive Board and Country Managing Partner at EY Germany and enjoy working alongside our colleagues in Germany.Before joining the EY Tax and Legal practice in I studied law at the universities of Göttingen and Munich and wrote my thesis in 1997 at the university in Marburg. As a qualified lawyer (“Rechtsanwalt”) and certified tax advisor, I have focused on the project management of cross-border engagements, particularly global due diligences and global tax structuring projects. Initially, I established the Transaction Tax Team in the Hanover EY office. Before taking over the role of GSA Tax Managing Partner in 2018, I was the Tax Segment Leader in Northern Germany as well as the Tax Quality Leader for the GSA region at EY.As Chairman of the Executive Board and Country Managing Partner, I focus on reinforcing the position of EY in the German market. Based on our global strategy “All in” we create long-term value for our clients, people, and society. In the course of that, I commit to following our values of diversity and inclusiveness, as well as integrity, respect, and teaming.In addition to my operational work, I have been a lecturer at the department for taxation law at the University of Osnabrück. I’m a long-term member of the Rotary Club Hannover and actively take responsibility as treasurer. As a Board Member of the Association to foster the Museum Wilhelm Busch - The German Museum for Caricature and the Art of Drawing, I also pursue my passion for the arts.Together with my wife, I live near Hannover, and now that our three sons have left the house to study and work, I have more time for sporting activities like running, hiking, and swimming. In addition, I enjoy reading, cooking and barbecuing.
