ABOUT HENA PATEL

I have completed three valuable internships with Weeks Marine – Kiewit Corporation, Minestone Construction LLC, and most recently, L3Harris Technologies (OceanServer). These experiences strengthened my technical skills in structural calculations, CAD design, and mechanical systems while enhancing my project management, collaboration, and professional communication abilities in both industry and academic settings.At Rutgers University, I serve as Team Captain of RUAutonomous, part of the Rutgers chapter of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics. My role has evolved from Treasurer to Hardware Lead and Business/Administrative Lead, where I oversee the design and build of our autonomous competition drone using electrical, mechanical, and 3D-printed components. I also manage sponsorships, events, inventory, merchandise, and marketing, leading diverse subteams toward technical and organizational success.Driven and adaptable, I am seeking opportunities—particularly in the defense industry—that leverage my skills in CAD design, propulsion, structures, and hardware development. I value environments where I can collaborate closely with experienced professionals while also contributing independently to impactful projects.Looking ahead, I plan to take the FE exam by my senior year to pursue my PE license. I also intend to enter an accelerated MBA program during my undergraduate studies and later complete my JD, combining my engineering expertise with legal and business knowledge to address the complex challenges in national security. My goal is to make a lasting impact at the intersection of technology, law, and business.
