At ASOS I work as part of the Order Management team where I help develop new features and support my account webpage. I’m involved in rewriting the platform from a monolith to a microservice architecture and utilizing event sourcing. My roles & responsibilities involves: • Developing new API’s and Azure functions using the latest.NET versions. • Utilizing all Azure components such as Cosmos DB, Service Bus, Key Vault, App Service etc to help build and maintain services. • Maintaining the existing legacy platform which runs on Cloud Services along with deploying on the old pipeline setup which uses Team City and Octopus. • Using FAKE/F# scripts for building tasks to automate components locally such as certificates, docker containers, tests etc. • Migrating existing repositories to GitHub along with setting up CI/CD pipelines on Azure DevOps. • Using terraform to create resource/modules with versioning and testing using terra test. • On-call support to help troubleshoot current legacy code and assist with problems related to the platform. • Leading stand-ups, retrospectives, technical discussions and refining stories. • Using Grafana dashboards and App Insights to help monitor and troubleshoot any issues within services. • Setting up alerts and getting notified via email/Microsoft teams. • Reviewing Snyk/Veracode scans and resolving any vulnerabilities on code bases. • Keeping up to date with documentation such as swagger docs, runbooks, and architecture diagrams. • Training and mentoring junior/experienced members of the team by leading conversations on new ideas and best coding practices. • Participating in the wider inner source community on GitHub by creating extensions, templates for API and reviewing pull requests. • Leading conversations with architects regarding costs and changes on certain Azure resources.
