ABOUT MEGHAN HACK

Meghan is a visionary leader and educator, motivated by community capacity building. She applies evidence-based strategies and dynamic communication to educate and empower diverse communities. Most recently, Meghan has taught in the Peters School of Business at Assiniboine College, where she incorporates active and authentic learning as well as genAI technologies to teach the next generation of business leaders. Meghan\'s teaching philosophy incorporates learner-centred approaches where she can co-create knowledge in the classroom (virtual or in-person). Her courses of focus include: Research & Report Writing, Communications, Business Law, Canadian Business & Society, and Personal Management. Recent projects and initiatives with Peters School of Business include: genAI Community of Practice, HyFlex teaching, program review and renewal, department strategic planning. As a culture and communication professional, Meghan has designed and delivered numerous intercultural awareness workshops and courses. She has coordinated community inclusion projects and events, such as Walking Forward Together, an anti-islamophobia event in partnership with Brandon University based on her graduate research. She has contributed to cultural education programming at the University of Prince Edward Island, University of Manitoba, Brandon University\'s Centre for Applied Research in Rural and Remote Education Settings (BU CARES), the University of Winnipeg (in partnership with Manitoba First Nations Education Resource Centre). Meghan\'s research experience includes settlement and integration studies with the Rural Development Institute, incorporating virtual and augmented technologies into Indigenous-led education programs with BU CARES, participatory action research expressing Indigenous identities in our community with BU CARES, and her own graduate research related to community building strategies in Brandon, Manitoba. Meghan has obtained an MA in Intercultural and International Communications from Royal Roads University, where her thesis research incorporated Participatory Action-based Research methodology such as Photovoice. Her research interests include: genAI, JEDI, community development, adult education, and identity. Meghan is looking for a challenging career where she can apply her creativity, knowledge and experience to facilitate inclusion and empowerment in professional and community environments.
