About Helen Opper

Helen Opper is a modern and contemporary art curator, appraiser, and educator based in Oklahoma City. Helen studied art history at Vassar College and the University of California, Berkeley, and earned her M.A. in Museum Studies from New York University. Her firm, Opper Fine Art, offers appraisals and art valuation services; curatorial and research services; collections and database management support; and art writing and editing. She is an Associate member of the Appraisers Association of America and is USPAP-compliant through July 2022. Helen’s current, ongoing projects include directing Oklahoma City gallery The Art Hall; building her independent appraisal business; and curating Oklahoma Contemporary’s ArtNow 2021 biannual exhibition. She also consults for Shea Art Advisory, a bi-coastal advisory and appraisal firm; and teaches Art Appreciation at OKC Community College.
