ABOUT HELEN LITTLE

I\'m a curator, researcher and writer with a special interest in twentieth century and contemporary British art. With 20 years\' experience as an arts professional with skills in arts administration, collection management, fundraising, research, publishing and curating exhibitions of emerging and established British artists, I am passionate about bringing arts and culture closer to people and making museums and galleries more accessible. I love supporting artists whose work tells strong stories, connecting their work to different communities and thinking about it in social and historical contexts. I have contributed to a number of books and exhibition catalogues on modern and contemporary British art. I am co editor and contributing author of The 80s: Photographing Britain (Tate Publishing, 2024): author and editor of the monographs ‘Derek Boshier: Reinventor’ (Lund Humphries, Oct 2023) and David Hockney: Moving Focus’ (Tate Publishing, 2020) and co-author of ‘Alan Davie and David Hockney: Early Works’ (Lund Humphries, 2018). As a Clore Emerging Leader from a working class family, I want to ensure that people from diverse backgrounds have opportunities in the art world. I am a passionate mentor and a trustee at Waterman’s, a leading multi-disciplinary arts venue in West London.
