ABOUT HELEN FOX

I’m a chartered PR practitioner and chartered marketer with more than 20 years’ experience leading communications in complex, high scrutiny environments.I currently head up communications and engagement at Gateshead Health NHS Foundation Trust, where I’m the most senior communications professional in the organisation. I advise the board and executive team on reputation, risk and culture, and lead a function that supports major transformation, workforce change and system partnership working. In recent years I’ve:Led a full organisational rebrand, bringing hospital and community services together under a single Gateshead Health identity and aligning it with a refreshed vision and strategy.Repositioned the communications function as a strategic partner, embedding structured planning and evaluation and strengthening board level reporting.Transformed internal communications through a digital first approach.Delivered high profile programmes including industrial action communications, major service consultations and the launch of an £18.6 million community diagnostic centre in partnership with Newcastle Hospitals.I’ve also served as interim chair of a youth charity, strengthening governance and stabilising finances during a period of change.Across my career I’ve led crisis communications, politically sensitive consultations and national behaviour change campaigns. I’m comfortable operating at board level, working with clinicians and frontline teams, and building relationships with partners and system leaders. My focus is clear, honest communication that builds trust and enables change.
