ABOUT HELEN CARTER
As a co founder of Loughborough Wellbeing Centre in Dec 2014, one of my key achievements is in leading the Charity to become a key delivery and strategic partner with NHS, Local Government and many amazing VCSE organisations in and around Leicestershire, Leicester and Rutland. Through a variety of roles over the years within both Public sector and through my Military Service, I have been able to bring my experience to the role I now hold within the Charity Sector. My experience includes project management, managing programmes of work both within the public and community/voluntary sectors. My skillset includes leadership, communication, relationship management, consultancy, facilitation, business analysis, innovation, performance/change management and continuous improvement.Throughout my career, I have developed my skills and managed high profile projects, such as the Government’s ‘Tackling Knives Action Programme,’ delivering projects with partners to tackle the deaths and serious injuries of young people. I developed and led the initiative to tackle underage knife sales (including online purchases)with over 20 major retailers.Having worked in both Central and Local Government, I have a strong understanding of complex partnership working and have developed skills to overcome the challenges of working across a range of organisational structures. I see the ‘bigger picture,’ identifying opportunities for collaboration where work streams overlap and maximising resources.Using strong relationship management/leadership skills I develop positive working relationships with a range of partners across all sectors. I have a positive and innovative approach to problem solving and confidently develop solutions to support strategic priorities across partnerships. Our charity provides support for over visitors per month with structured activities and programmes of work that supports people out of crisis; enabling them to gain confidence; new skills and a peer support network which will increase their personal resilience and reduce the likelihood to access crisis care services.I am passionate about this work and I am working tirelessly to expand this vital service across Leicestershire and beyond.
