In May, I stepped into a new chapter as National External Communications Manager at The Salvation Army. From shaping media and social strategy to collaborating with influencers like the PenaVegas, our goal is clear: connect with our audiences and amplify stories that matter. Whether it’s spotlighting our global work supporting refugees and combating human trafficking, responding to the Texas floods, or honoring our legacy—like being among the first to arrive and the last to leave during Hurricane Katrina 20 years ago—this role continues to fuel my passion for humanitarian communications that drive real change. The Salvation Army is the largest provider of social services in the U.S. after the government, serving every zip code in America and reaching some of the most vulnerable communities worldwide. Poverty is complex. I’m deeply grateful to work alongside a team that meets it head-on with compassion, strategy, and grit.
