ABOUT HELENA FRIEDRICH

I am a final year PhD researcher at King\'s College London and the Diamond Light Source, funded by the LIDo programme. In my project, I investigate the uptake and effects of micro- and nanoplastics on mammalian cells. For this, I am developing a live-cell FTIR pre-screening method, as well as microFTIR and nanoIR techniques for subcellular imaging and observing localized changes. I am passionate about interdisciplinary research and my background has allowed me to now conduct a project that has biological, biochemical, environmental and physical aspects to it.
