Took over as Director 1st April 2016. Running this small, but successful educational charity and its loyal team of 10 staff plus volunteers. Responsibilities include heading up the East of England STEM Ambassador partnership; organising inspirational events, working alongside key stakeholders & funders; regional co-ordinator for the Nuffield Research Placement Scheme in the East of England & London, helping Year 12 reach their potential and giving them an opportunity to work with scientists & engineers. Other responsibilities include working with our Board of Trustees to implement our strategy and vision, financial administration, management and working with local companies and organisations to help fulfill their corporate social responsibility requirements.

ABOUT HELEN SPENCER
STEMPOINT is an educational charity that promotes Science, Technology, Engineering & Maths (STEM) to young people. I organise events and experiences that are aimed at inspiring the next generation by introducing them to exciting people who can show them the possibilities of a STEM career. This includes managing the STEM Ambassador Hub for the East of England, Nuffield Research Placements, promoting CREST Awards and offering STEM workshops to local schools and youth groups. I also work with partner organisations and companies in industry that have an interest in growing STEM talent to provide the workforce of the future. My personal interest is in psychology and I have an MSc in Occupational Psychology from the University of Leicester.
