ABOUT HELEN SERLIN

I am a highly experienced social worker, former team manager and qualified Approved Mental Health Practitioner with significant expertise working with children of all ages and their families, especially with mental health issues. I am also a qualified and experienced PAMS and Action Learning facilitator. I have significant experience preparing court reports in both private and public law. I have been highly complimented on many occasions, by judges and other legal professionals on the high quality of my reports.I have ten years’ experience as a front line practitioner and six as a manager, specialising in child protection, looked-after children and mental health (both children and adults). I qualified, as an Approved Mental Health Practitioner in 2009, practiced for over eight years across children’s, and adult’s services, where I co-authored joint protocols to work across both services. I am qualified to undertake PAMS parenting assessments both single and joint. I am a level two qualified practice teacher and continue to support students. I have guest-lectured on the Sheffield University Social Work Masters’ Degree program. The lecture I wrote and delivered was entitled ‘Values and Relationships in Brief Assessment Context’. This was well received and I received positive feedback.I have substantial experience of court work, both public and private, covering all aspects of the above. I have written and presented evidence to a high standard on many occasions. I also have significant experience of the Court of Protection.
