ABOUT HELEN KIRK
In May 2020 I was thrilled to join the New Social Prescribing team in North Lincolnshire South PCN. I am based at Ancora Medical Practice and have faced challenges starting a new role and working in the midst of the covid-19 Pandemic but it has been amazing at the same time, using my local knowledge and linking Patients to services and the voluntary sector. In 2018 North Lincolnshire council appointed Addaction as one integrated Drug and Alcohol service where I Tuped across as a Recovery Worker /Community Engagement Coordinator. In Febuary 2020 Addaction changed its name to We are with You. In 2014, I joined Agencia as Senior Practitioner for the Active Recovery Service. Since joining the team, I later progressed to the role of Service Manager in the field of Recovery and Wellbeing. I have been integral in establishing the Active Recovery Detox Club which earlier this year transitioned to a constitution, and currently work in Primary care clinics, offering psychosocial support to service users and successfully bidding for funding, securing over this year alone. I volunteer as a Home Check Coordinator for Houndsfirst Sighthound Rescue arranging checks with potential homes for sight-hounds to be fostered and adopted.
