ABOUT HELEN JUDD

I have 19 years’ experience in delivering water and flood risk consultancy services. I am Chartered Water and Environmental Manager and CIWEM mentor. I am team leader for the Water Resources South east team at AECOM, which comprises of a mix of hydraulic modellers, engineers and flood risk consultants. I have a national role within AECOM supporting the Tech Ex initiative as discipline lead for fluvial modelling. This means I get to champion the work we do, facilitate knowledge sharing nationally and be at the forefront of new innovations. I am a certified AECOM project manager, and am familiar with managing projects in accordance with NEC4.Over the years I have been part of and led projects for a variety of clients, including local authorities, private developers, national infrastructure, nuclear and Environment Agency. My most common projects have tended to be hydraulic modelling and flood risk assessments but also have experience in preparing water resource chapters for Environmental Impact Assessments, surface water management plans and strategic flood risk assessments. The hydraulic modelling projects I’ve led have also been of varying purposes from fish pass design, to breach modelling to surface water management plans. During my career I did a 4 year part-time secondment to the Environment Agency’s Reservoir Safety Team, where I was project manager in the delivery of the national Reservoir Flood Mapping project. I am AECOM’s Framework Manager for the Environment Agency’s Mapping and Modelling Framework.Key skills: Hydraulic modelling: Mike 21 HD, HECRAS, TuFLOW, FMP and InfoWorks ICM.
