ABOUT HEINZ-JOACHIM HOMBACH

Heinz-Joachim has been working as a lawyer specialising in insolvency administration and restructuring for the Stuttgart office of PLUTA Rechtsanwalts GmbH since 2009. Since February 2020, Heinz-Joachim has been working for the Berlin and Leipzig offices of PLUTA Rechtsanwalts GmbH. He holds a law degree from the University of Regensburg and completed his legal clerkship at the High Court of Nuremberg.Heinz-Joachim has worked on numerous high profile insolvency cases, either as part of interdisciplinary restructuring teams or on his own. Cases worked on include TRIX Modelleisenbahn GmbH & Co. KG (Nuremberg based subsidiary of iconic german model train manufacturer Gebr. Märklin & Cie. GmbH, Göppingen), Metallgießerei Scheeff GmbH (Nersingen/Neu-Ulm; automotive supplier/aluminum foundry), nicko cruises GmbH (Stuttgart; river cruise operator; company assets sold to portuguese Mystic Invest SGPS led by Mário Ferreira), JT Touristik GmbH (Berlin; lead counsel; company assets sold to the digital division of german retail giant Lidl), H&H Touristik Group (Karlsruhe; lead counsel), Rexer Group (Calw; lead counsel) and Eisengießerei Torgelow GmbH (counsel to Sebastian Laboga as trustee). Sold the assets of german car body parts supplier ALLGAIER Sachsen GmbH after 14 months of continued business operations (as Insolvency Administrator) to Martin Umformtechnik GmbH.Additionally, Heinz-Joachim serves as internal data protection coordinator at PLUTA. He is actively involved in the development of internal IT processes and infrastructure, including companywide introduction of AI applications. In 2025, he acquired his certificate as AI officer (Art. 4 AI Act (EU)). Since 2023, Heinz-Joachim and Simon Eickmann jointly serve as CEOs of PLUTA Digital GmbH, Munich.
