ABOUT ADRIAN HEIEIS

I chose to study engineering because I was a boy who was good at math, and it just seemed to make sense. Looking back, it really didn\'t, but I\'m very glad it\'s the path I took. Although I\'ve steered away from engineering, that technical background has given me the ability to advocate for the mining industry and help us move towards a safer, more sustainable, future. I have spent the past decade bringing innovative new technologies to the mining industry, always looking for ways that we can be better globally, and closer to home. I have worked for small start-ups, the largest mining equipment manufacturers, Tier 1 mining companies, and now one of the world\'s most innovative technology providers. I have had the priviledge to work with leading mining companies-small and large-all across the globe, and it is my greatest pleasure working with these partners to bring new technologies to life. My best days are those where I see mining companies using the technologies we dreamt up, built, and deployed together. Within the world of Product Management, I get to interact with a lot of smart people that constantly help me become a better person and leader. Leading teams and individuals towards a common vision is one of my greatest strengths, but it\'s the UI/UX design, engineering, data science, marketing, and sales professionals I work with everyday that make it happen. I am also always looking for ways to invest my time into the future of the mining industry, especially into local Canadians and Canadian businesses. I am always looking to support mining technology start-ups and younger professionals and students entering the industry. I am a member of the University of British Columbia Mining Engineering Industry Advisory Committee (IAC) where I have the pleasure of lending my experience to an incredibly talented faculty. At the end of the day, I entered the mining workforce because I saw an opportunity. I saw an opportunity to have a positive impact on a massive, global scale, and I couldn\'t be more excited about the future.
