About Heidi Pitts
One of my earliest mentors charged me to always use my words to spread good news. Sometimes that is easy—like getting to write the announcement that Whitman College will meet the full financial need of all students, or tell the story of how a cancelled flight led a religion professor, baseball coach and 15 brand new international students to take a middle of the night road trip across Washington state.Some days it doesn\'t feel like there\'s much good to share, and that\'s life. I\'m a big believer that it\'s okay to not be okay. But I also know that in those times, words of truth and grace have the power to uplift, encourage, and shine just enough light through the cracks to help us get through another day.And that\'s what I\'m trying to be about.
