About Heer Mehta
I’m a designer, researcher and strategist who is passionate about utilizing design to facilitate change for socially just futures. I have a background in interior architecture, and through my education and practice, I realized the need for my work to be research driven to avoid the creation of dysfunctional design interventions. Since, I have been able to combine tool kits from both fields to develop a process that helps me connect theory and practice. I pride my process to facilitate a design ‘with’ and not ‘for’ approach and tests assumptions we make everyday. I’ve had the honour to collaborate with LaPlaca Cohen, Dalberg Design and UNWomen, among others. I was also part of the core team at Press DB, a start up that focused on making academic writing for students easier through human centered design and AI, where I led UX design and research.
