CW4 Hector X. Colon is a 30+year Army veteran serving as the Command Chief Warrant Officer, a principal advisor to the Commanding General and senior leader, of the 1,600+ member USAR Legal Command, Gaithersburg, MD. CW4 Colon enlisted in the US Army in 1997 and completed Basic Training at Fort Knox, Kentucky and Advanced Individual Training as a Legal Specialist at Fort Benjamin Harrison, Indiana. He served on active duty for three years as a Legal Specialist in the Office of the Staff Judge Advocate and the 46th Engineer Battalion, US Army Aviation Center & Fort Rucker, Alabama. In September 1990, while a member of the US Army Reserve, Chief Colon was mobilized and served in Operations Desert Shield/Storm with the 394th Quartermaster Battalion, Fort Buchanan, Puerto Rico. In 1995, he returned to active duty as an AGR Legal NCO until 1997, when he was released from active duty to accept appointment as the first Legal Administrator for the 65th USAR Support Command, a position he occupied until he retired in August 2007. In November 2008, Chief Colon came out of retirement and re-joined the Army Reserves to become the first Legal Administrator for the 75th Battle Command Training Division (BCTD), in Houston, TX. In February 2010, he was assigned as the first Legal Administrator to the G1, USAR Legal Command, and in February 2013, he was assigned to the G7. In May 2016, he became the CCWO for the Command. CW4 Colon is a graduate of the Warrant Officer Senior Service Education and the JAGC Warrant Officer Basic and Advance Courses. His awards include the Legion of Merit, Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal (with 4 Oak Leaf Clusters), Army Achievement Medal (with 2 Oak Leaf Clusters), Army Good Conduct Medal, Army Reserve Component Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Southwest Asia Service Medal (with 3 Bonze Service Stars), Armed Forces Reserve Medal (with “M” Device), and the Air Assault Badge.
