About Hector Pineda

Hector Pineda is an alumnus of Louisiana State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in psychology. Hector earned a law degree from Tulane Law School. Hector Pineda was appointed AGC Marketing Americas and Lead Counsel Sectors & Decarbonization in 2021. In this role Hector leads the legal team supporting Shell’s traditional downstream businesses in the Americas region (e.g. retail, lubricants) and Shell’s new Sectors & Decarbonization business focused on working with customers to support their decarbonization journeys on a sector-by-sector basis (e.g. marine, aviation). Hector sits on the global S&D business leadership team where he advises senior executives on legal and reputational issues. Hector has also served as Shell Oil Company’s Head of Legal for the United States. In his 26 years with Shell’s legal department, he has supported corporate, upstream and downstream business segments in the Americas, Europe, Africa and Asia. He serves as sponsor of the Shell Hispanic Employees Network and Shell Legal’s Pro Bono/Community Service Program and Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Council in the US. Outside of Shell, Hector serves as Board Chairman of the Houston Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Foundation and was honored as HHCC’s Hispanic Male Executive of the Year in 2013. In 2019, Hector was recognized by the National Diversity Council as one of Houston’s Top 50 General Counsel for his work promoting diversity and inclusion. He also serves on the Dean\'s Advisory Council for College of Humanities & Social Sciences for Louisiana State University and on the National Board of the LSU Foundation. Hector is an inaugural member of Tulane Law School’s National Advisory Board for its Center for Energy Law. He has formerly served as a Director of the Texas Lyceum and Healthcare for the Homeless – Houston and as Executive Committee Vice Chair for the Institute for Energy Law. Hector, a native of New Orleans, and his wife are the proud parents of two sons.
