ABOUT HECTOR M. RIVERA

Hector M. Rivera is an emerging professional in the not-for-profit arena. Hector has more than 40 years of experience in the field of Human Services and provides a broad spectrum of services from hands-on Youth Development, Workforce Development, leadership, training, project management, to management information system management. Hector has been with Our Piece of the Pie® (OPP®) for over 23 years and has held many titles during his tenure with the agency. Hector was initially hired as a Youth Development Specialist (case manager) but his drive and ambition quickly propelled him into leadership roles. He has been responsible for the day-to-day operations of the education, youth development, and workforce development departments. Currently, Hector is the President & Chief Executive Officer (CEO) which includes oversight of all Our Piece of the Pie’s executive and administrative supports. As the CEO, he works hand-in-hand with the organization’s E-Team & Directors to ensure that the programs and administrative supports he oversees have the resources and qualified staff needed to deliver quality services. Professionally, Hector proves time and again his flexibility in responding to changing conditions wearing many hats in the efforts to meet and exceed contractual goals and challenges. Academically, he has earned a bachelor degree in Human Services from Springfield College and Master degrees in both Management and Business Administration both from Albertus Magnus College. Hector was appointed to the National Youth Employment Coalition (NYEC) Board of Directors in March 2013 and named to the Board of Directors for Camp Courant in April 2013.Hector has spent his entire professional life as an advocate for young people. Both his personal and professional goals are all based on helping others (particularly young adults) achieve their dreams and bettering themselves.
