ABOUT HEBA BOU KAEDBEY

I’m a Mathematics Instructor with extensive experience teaching in higher education and a deep commitment to student success. With a strong foundation in mathematics and problem-solving, I was naturally drawn to data science, a field where I can apply analytical thinking to real-world challenges with meaningful impact.Over the two years, I’ve worked on projects at the intersection of predictive modeling, fairness, and interpretability, including credit risk assessment, fake image detection, and financial crime detection. I care deeply about building AI systems that are not only accurate, but also transparent, fair, and trustworthy. My focus is not just on what a model predicts, but on understanding and clearly explaining why.My toolkit includes Python (scikit-learn, pandas, NumPy, PyTorch), SQL, and Excel, and I’ve built models using techniques like logistic regression, random forests, gradient boosting (XGBoost, LightGBM), and deep learning architectures. I regularly apply feature engineering, dimensionality reduction, interpretability tools (SHAP), and fairness evaluation to align model performance with business and ethical objectives.I hold a BS and two MS degrees in Mathematic from Notre Dame University - Louaize (NDU) and Florida State University, and I’m currently pursuing a PhD in Mathematics with a concentration in difference and computer algebra. My academic path reflects a strong drive for innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning, bridging theory with real-world application.
