About Heather Lahr

I have eight years of experience in the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) sector delivering unique and inspiring events focused on creating community within organizations and enhancing the company brand. At Citrix, I managed a team of 20 Community Ambassadors to lead local giving campaigns, developed a five-year strategic plan to enhance our offerings and incorporate Employee Resource Groups into the program, and led internal communications for the program. This provided me with the opportunity to work across the business on a large scale while driving local impact globally through strategic volunteer management and corporate donations. While at Nutanix I had an inside look into developing and growing scalable, transparent processes and helped developed a Diversity & Inclusion recruiting campaign. Each role involved extensive coordination with nonprofit partners, end-to-end event management and collaborating and communicating across the business.I have a diverse background, which includes coordinating a country-wide Gender in Development Summit in Zambia, researching, and planning a Natural History of Whiskey tasting for 200 people, hosting a battle bot competition on the main stage at Citrix Synergy, and connecting thousands of employees to causes they care about through innovative and fun volunteer events. I have worked in nonprofits, both global and local, and know how to deliver programs with limited resources. These experiences have shaped my ability to understand diverse viewpoints, think on a large scale, and deliver effective programs and events. I\'m equally comfortable standing at a booth asking people to volunteer as I am presenting to a room full of executives.

   I manage a suite of projects across Environmental Markets Lab (emLab) and National Center for Ecological Analysis and Synthesis (NCEAS) addressing our most pressing environmental concerns. At emLab we research how market-based solutions can positively impact the environment and at NCEAS we use synthesis science and data science to accelerate discoveries that enhance our understanding of the world and benefit people and nature. Some of my projects include-Identifying the key economic, ecological, social, and political conditions under which innovations in \"clean seafood\"(aka cell-based seafood) could drive a conservation benefit in our oceans-Understanding the potential of using seaweed aquaculture for nutrient remediation in our oceans-Researching ways to incorporate financial tools to mitigate risk in fisheries-Exploring the potential health and environmental benefits of community-wide adoption of clean cook stoves in Ghana-Helping to build the Conservation Aquaculture Research Team, a group dedicated to positive, sustainable practices in the industry-Building a framework for impact investing in the blue economy
