   Dr Hammerstedt is a board certified emergency medicine physician, with 18 years of clinical experience. As a proudly Harvard trained specialist, she works mostly night shifts, being present to care for those who present to the emergency department on sometimes the worst nights of their lives. Heart attacks, car accidents, strokes, bad infections, sick children, mental health emergencies and of course the worried well. She is proud to be able to be calm and empathic while saving lives and reassuring the ill and injured, and to be able to make an impact on those who need it at the time. While the other part of her career (Wholist) is focused on prevention and reversal of disease, she strongly believes the emergency medicine represents the BEST of what modern western medicine can offer for acute care. Through the years, she has held various positions of leadership, including President of the state chapter of American College of Emergency Physicians, Executive Director of an international nonprofit organization, Medical Director of a regional trauma center, Emergency Medicine clerkship director, member of Board of Directors of multimillion dollar emergency medicine company, and more.
