I use computational chemistry tools to advance research into renewable materials and energy. My current efforts are focused on 1) understanding lignin depolymerization chemistry to produce renewable, bio-based feedstocks to replace fossil fuel feedstocks, and 2) uncovering atomic-scale properties and elementary reactions related to synthetic polymer design and recycling to aid moving toward a plastics circular economy. NREL provides excellent opportunities to work in interdisciplinary teams
