Racine County\'s only locally owned and operated news source started from scratch in Q4 2013 to provide a news source for the community east of I-94 to fill the void from a shrinking legacy media.Covering local business, elections, government, schools, police & fire, community organizations, events and more from:City of RacineVillages of Caledonia, Mount Pleasant and SturtevantRacine Unified School DistrictRaymond School District #14Racine County• Manage the daily content on the website of six to 10 stories that mixes hyperlocal, regional, and national news.• Manage story assignments and flow plus edit the work of six freelance reporters who cover local features, sports, and create content to complement special events hosted by Racine County Eye such as Aging Well Expo, Wedding & Quinceañera Expo, and Thrive Home & Wellness Show.• Co-host political forums so citizens could learn more about candidates for local elected office as well as conducted online questionnaires where candidates could explain their positions about leading topics appropriate to the office they were seeking.• Aggregate additional local, regional, and national news sources (print and broadcast media) to provide comprehensive coverage for an audience that has grown to about unique visitors a month.• Reached 1.3 million page views in just two years and 1.6 million page views in year three. Eleven years later, we garner between three and four million annual page views.
