    In this role, l lead all aspects of CAN’s policy and advocacy related activities including:*Coalition building with traditional and non-traditional partners;*Legislation tracking;*Conducting policy research, analysis, and dissemination;*Working with elected officials and decision-makers around policy and legislation development;*Responding to policy developments on behalf of CAN;*Representing CAN at legislative meetings and hearings;*Representing CAN and the field at stakeholder meetings; and*Developing and facilitating advocacy materials and trainings. Additionally, I oversee the outreach and communication efforts of CAN including:*Development and implementation of communications strategies including social media, newsletters, and web development, design, and management;*Support development of all CAN publications;*Organize, lead, and facilitate meetings of stakeholders and practitioners including funders, California Department of Education Leadership, County Office of Education and School District Leadership, higher education leadership, non-profit and CBO Leadership, expanded learning program staff, and others;*Develop and retain key stakeholder relationships including with the CAN Leadership Team and internal committees/workgroups, and field-based committee work and communications;*Ensures strategic collaboration with appropriate internal and external personnel to accomplishorganizational goals and objectives; and*Organize and implement conferences and events.Lastly, I serve as part of the senior leadership for CAN supporting the strategic direction of the organization and helping to oversee organizational operations.
