About Heather Schwar
I\'m an experienced Senior Water Resources Engineer, Principal and Project Manager with a demonstrated history of working in design and engineering services on watershed management and ecological engineering projects. With more than 25 years of experience, I love to focus on water resources by evaluating, modeling and designing various hydrologic and hydraulic (H&H) projects, including stream and wetland restorations and mitigations, stream habitat and bank protection, dam removal and fish passage, stormwater programs with basin, sewer, floodplain management, bridge and culvert improvements, and sediment transport and scour analysis. My projects range from the conceptual level to design/permitting, bid, construction oversight, and monitoring. I am currently Stantec\'s Environmental Services\' Technical Discipline Lead for Water Resources in the US, where I am responsible for driving business performance and delivering technically excellent client solutions, by driving quality and innovation, providing direction for technical excellence in project delivery and promoting health and safety within the water resources discipline. In addition to my technical skills, I provide project management training, am a Environmental Services Coach for Stantec\'s Idea Machine where I assist in development of innovative ideas, actively mentor staff seeking to improve business development and technical skill sets, and am part of our Great Lakes Leadership team where I support operations, strategic growth and client services in the Midwest.I have a Masters of Science (MS) in Civil Engineering with a Water Resources emphasis and a Bachelor of Science (BS) focused in Geological/Geophysical Engineering from University of Wisconsin-Madison. I\'m licensed as a Professional Engineer in 12 states and 2 countries. Drop me a message about a project. I can\'t wait to meet you!
